General Information

North Shore District is located in the North Island of New Zealand and is one of the many cities in the Auckland metropolitan area.
Takapuna is the main town and is known as the ‘capital’ of the North Shore District. Between 30 - 45 minutes minutes north of Aucklands' International & Domestic Airport: a 5 minute drive from Auckland’s central business district across the Auckland Harbour Bridge, a short ferry ride across the Waitakere Harbour from downtown Auckland to Devonport.
The city boasts a lifestyle and environment that set it apart as a destination for homemakers, pleasure-seekers and business people.

Geography

The district is bounded by the Waitemata Harbour to the south and the Rangitoto Channel of the Hauraki Gulf to the east. The Auckland Harbour Bridge connects it to Auckland City on the south side of the Waitemata Harbour . Surrounded by sea, the city has an unbroken 140 km urban coastline and has an area of approximately 12,979 hectares.
